U.S. Consumer Price Index Rose 0.2% in February 2025

On March 12, 2025, the Bureau of Labor Statistics issued its CPI report for February 2025. The CPI increased 0.2% in February, after rising 0.5% in
January. Over the past 12 months, the Index rose 2.8%, after rising 3.0% in the 12 months ending in January. The index for shelter rose 0.3% in February, accounting
for nearly half of the monthly increase in the full Index.
The Core Index, excluding food and energy, increased 0.2% in February, following an increase of 0.4% in the prior month. The Core Index rose 3.1% over the past year
compared to a 12-month increase of 3.3% in January. The Energy Index decreased 0.2% over the past 12 months, while the Food Index rose 2.6% during the past year.
The next CPI report will be issued on April 10, 2025.
