U.S. Consumer Prices Rose 0.1% in May 2025

On June 11, 2025, the Bureau of Labor Statistics released its CPI Report for May. The CPI rose 0.1% in May, after rising 0.2% in April. The Index increased 2.4% in the 12 months ending in May, following an increase of 2.3% in the 12 months ending in April.
The Core Index, excluding food and energy, rose 0.1% in May, after an increase of 0.2% in April. Over the past year, the Core Index increased 2.8%, as it did in the previous two months.
The Energy Index decreased 3.5% over the past 12 months, while the Food Index increased 2.9% over that same period.
The next CPI Report will be issued on July 15, 2025.
