U.S. Consumer Prices Rose 0.3% in November 2024

On December 11, 2024, the Bureau of Labor Statistics issued its Consumer Price Index report for November. The CPI rose 0.3% in the month, after increases of 0.2% in each of the four previous months. Over the past year, the CPI is up 2.7%, following increases of 2.6% in October and 2.4% in September.

The Core CPI, excluding food and energy, rose 0.3% in November, as it did in each of the three prior months. Over the past year, the Core rate rose by 3.3%. Energy prices are down 3.2% while food prices rose 2.8% over the previous 12 months.

The next CPI report will be issued on January 15, 2025.
