U.S. Employment Rose by 51,000 in June 2026

On July 2, 2026, the Bureau of Labor Statistics issued its Employment Report for June.  Total payrolls increased by 51,000.  The unemployment rate is 4.2%, little changed over the past 12 months.

The average payroll compensation rose by $0.13 to $37.64, up 3.5% a year ago.

Revisions to previous monthly reports came to a reduction of 74,000 jobs.

The next Employment Report will be issued on August 7, 2026.
